As a kid I did not take to good care of my teeth and they have yellowed considerably. I have tried brushing them with colgate whitener but they don't show improvement please can you tell me of any successful whitening methods you know of and if possible the cost and side effects involved thanks in advance.
Rubikscube - it happened with me too its quite natural. but what you can do is brush for 15 min then it will show some changes and drink lesser amount of coffee and tea..
ReplyDeleteKivaCrystal - Mix a pinch of baking soda with your toothpaste every time you brush your teeth. Brush twice a day, especially before going to bed.
ReplyDeleteYou can also try brushing your teeth with olive oil. Remember, brush gently. Brushing hard would only scratch the enamel off your teeth and they would look more discolored.
Avoid too much tea/coffee and even if you have to drink juices, use a straw. An effective remedy is rubbing hydrogen peroxide but it stings and should not be used on a daily basis.
Other than that, it's best if you use a minty toothpaste with fluoride. Hope this helps :)
Lisa C - To really get a color change, your best bet is to have them whitened professionally by a dentist.
ReplyDeleteThey will use a prescribed whitening gel that will lighten the color of your teeth several shades. This can cost from $200 up and lasts about 5-7 years. The over the counter and home remedies, IMO are not really as effective or long lasting.
