When People Grind Their Teeth In Their Sleep, Do They Grind Their Front Teeth?

my sister 'used to' suffer from an eating disorder, and i think she still is. her teeth have become shortened at the front, which i asked her about, as i thought it was from vomiting, but she says its just from grinding her teeth at night, which i know she does.
"just bec......" the acids in vomit affect teeth. they can shorten and shrink, so they appear gappy.

Wisdom Teeth Question?

I'm getting them out Friday, and I'm a little nervous about being put to sleep!
When I wake up am I going to be spurting out nonsense? I don't want to say anything
inappropriate in front of my parents! And to make it worse, the operation is on Friday the 13th!
(not that I'm superstitious or anything)
And I don't know why I'm getting them out really but they say it will cause problems later on since I already have had braces! ~
And I have no idea what sedation they are using!
I just know that it's going to be done via an injection, they said they were giving me laughing gas for the injection but idk why because it seems like it's just an IV, why would you need laughing gas for an IV? $$$?

What's The Best Type Of Dental Filling You Can Get From The School Dentist?

I'm planning to get a dental filling at our school dentist tomorrow. I researched on what dental fillings I might get and I prefer the amalgam or silver fillings for the tooth beside my right front tooth. Would that be okay if the dentist can provide me that? And another thing, I just had two teeth (molars) extracted last week and they're still on the process of healing. I'm having a hard time enjoying my meals. I wonder if my front tooth dental filling would make me choose to go on fasting for a while. What do you think? Any suggestions?

I'm Getting Two Out Of Three Wisdom Teeth Removed Tomorrow. Should I Get All Three Removed Instead?

I haven't seen the dentist for 8-10 years and he doesn't want to "truamitize" me. He only wants to remove two out of three wisdom teeth. I had a tooth removed before but it was a LONG time ago. Everyone is telling me to remove all three. Mind you, if there is two separate appointment to extract my teeth, they will prick me with the needle same amount of times and I HATE needles!!!!
Ugh.... Help! Should I just remove all three or just two????

I intend to be a Dentist. It's my dream job and the job im willing to fight for, although one can never know if he is good enough to be accepted into Dental School or not. Im wondering, what is the benfit of a Pre-Dental degree over a regular Biology Degree? My intention is to become a dentist, but i would rather get a Biology Degree so that just in case i dont get accepted into Dental School ill have a degree that will still benefit. But than again, im not sure if that is wise for Pre-Dental may have its benefits. So, what are those benefits and should i take a Pre-dental degree or a Biology degree?

with foreign trained dentists practicing in the USA with foreign degrees like BDS(Bachelor of Dental Surgery), are they still addressed as "Dr."?

Does This Tick Any Of Y'all Off?

When ever you say something and someone corects you, with no proof or anything against you and it's obvious you're right?
Example:
Girl1 and Girl2.
Girl1 has had her braces off for a year, her teeth are nice and white and very very straight.
Girl2 who has litterly had hers off for a day. Girl1 "my orthadontis says I don't have to wear my retainer to school."
Girl2 imedantly responds "then your teeth are gonna grown back crooked and be the same." She says matter-a-factly. When obviously it isn't true.

This happened to me and got kind of ticked at my friend. I reply, some what annoyed "no they're not. I've had them off for a year (name). So don't say things you know are not true."

Please tell me if I over reacted to this or if this situation has happened to you when you acted the same

Why Are My Teeth So Awfully Crooked?

My teeth are just getting worse all the time. I have teeth growing through all the time, non-stop. My teeth are being pushed to the side by other teeth, but its not seeming to pushing out my teeth. It's just keeping my teeth in by pushing to the side and I nearly got three sets of teeth in the upper area. There so crooked. I want to get the sorted but INCIDENTALLY, I don't want braces at all! My premolars and canine's is where it is mainly happening on my upper teeth. And it is slightly happening on my lower first molar and second molar and premolar and canines. Its just annoying! My second premolar is falling out unusually. What can sort it out! WITHOUT BRACES! Please help!

ok so i dont remember eating anything hard, or anything to make it do that..and when i put my tounge near it (its not at the bottom, its more near the edge) it feels like a slice or a line missing and when i take a big step, stomp, or jump it hurts. its kinda sharp tooo. theres a little pain in it. i noticed it today.. i DO wear a retainer too could that be it? oh and i cant see a dentist not enough money/inserince (family problems with money)... and i just wanna know what could it be? will the slightly little pain go away? its not bad, my dad said see if it goes away but we cant see a dentist... help ? :o

Is It Even A Possibility That I Might Qualify For Invisilign?

I really want invisilign.
I've had braces for 3 years now, and I'm supposed to have them for another 2.
I'm having a surgery to fix my underbite this summer, as it's pretty much too bad to fix with braces.
I was born with a cleft lip and palate, so my teeth really don't look so great, though they look MUCH better than they did a few years ago.
They're kind of lined up in general now, but they're very misshapen. They definitely need a lot more lining up, but not to the point where I don't even think an invisilign could be made to cover them.
I really want this, but I don't think I want to mention it to my mom if there's no possibility that it could happen.
Does invisilign work for cases as severe as mine?
My bottom teeth, I know it would work for, they're in preeetty good condition.
My top teeth are the problem.
Also, I still have a baby tooth, but the orthodontists just plan to leave it in there until it falls out, which could be 2-20 years. (i don't have a permanent one to push it out)
So after my surgery, do you think I could switch?

The teeth behind those canines are also a little inwards so I think that's why the canines are really out there and won't go back..I just want to know how long i will need braces?
