396545382 I usually skip breakfast in the morning, eat grapes for lunch then whatever my mom makes (usually low fat) for supper so I tend to eat less than 100 calories a day. But this morning I SPLURGED big time and ate, a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and jam, rye bread with jam, a Clementine, a fruit popsicle, and corn pops cereal and almond milk. Will I get fat now? Im not going to eat lunch or supper, but will their be a difference in my weight tomorrow? Please help

Eating only 100 kcal per day for a long time will be extremely dangerous for you. As a fact, eating disorders are among the main death causes in young adults and teenagers in the US. (I'm not making this up, please read the link I copied below.)

Honey, you sound like you are suffering form anorexia, which is a really dangerous illness. Please talk to an adult about this.

I pretty much did the same thing this morning. I've been working out everyday for the past two weeks, I skipped today for rest and ended up eating a large breakfast. I had three pieces of left over pizza from my parents outing last night, two apples and two tangerines. That's a lot for me, especially when I'm not exercising today and having a calorie limit of 1200 calories.

And theirs something I caught in your sentence. If I'm correct, you eat less than 100 calories a day? You should be eating more than that. You're body will go into starvation mode and me having a struggle with the starvation/low calorie diet for three years, I know it doesn't work. Your body will eventually transfer the food you eat, if you go over the calorie limit or eat a bunch of food your body isn't use to, and store it as fat. I've finally got out of the harsh cycle and I'm losing weight the healthy weight.

  5. Blonde Bullet - Let me just say that that doesn't sound healthy at all. People need calcium, nutrients, proteins, vitamins and a certain amount of fat in their diet to stay healthy, and that means you need to have anywhere from 1400-2000 calories. What you're having definitely doesn't sound like enough.

I get where you're coming from, I really do. It's hard to stay healthy in today's world, where everything is packaged and full of fat. But eating less is not the answer. In fact, if you eat that little, your body will go into starvation mode. First your body will eat up the fat, and it will start eating your organs (that includes your heart, lungs, liver and kidneys). It causes scar tissue to form on these organs and its hard for them to function.

You won't get fat from eating a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and jam, rye bread with jam, a Clementine, a fruit popsicle, corn pops cereal and almond milk. In fact, your body is probably thanking you for giving it some nutrients and fat. You may feel uncomfortably full, but that's because you're just not used to eating so much. And to be honest, it's not that much in retrospect.

I highly suggest you start eating more. You don't have to eat fattening foods- you can even be vegan if you want. But it's hard on your heart and your body if you keep eating like you are. There are plenty of foods out there you can eat- fruits (oranges, strawberries, blueberries, apples, grapes, watermelon, melons, bananas, tomatoes, blackberries, raspberries), vegetables (broccoli, celery, carrots, spinach, cauliflower, lettuce, onions, garlic, corn, peas, green beans), low fat meat (any fish (salmon, tilapia, flounder, cod, etc), low fat chicken and turkey, grilled anything, shrimp), carbs (whole wheats and whole grain anything (wheat thins- they're awesome!)), and dairy (low-fat cheese, skim milk, low-fat Greek yogurt). These are things your body needs really bad.

I hope I helped, and that you can see you can eat more than 100 calories a day. You should talk to a trusted adult, and they will help you with this.

  6. Michael K - Hehe there is a much better way to do things but let me answer your question first. No you will not get fat as a matter a fact you did yourself a favour because of the situation. Certain hormones got released in your body, but with 100 calories a day you don't have a very fast metabolism but what you ate was within reason. The jam wasn't too good and neither was the popsicle but it will not have noticable affects the next day. The morning is also a time of a lot of time not eating and slowly digesting, your body is most primed for carbohydrates at this time. So sugars and wheats your body is most absorbing at this period of time. Now because you havn't eaten in so long and you've been digesting over night this is the most important meal because otherwise you go a very long time without food which then has its affects. The much better way I'm talking about is one where you eat more, eat more relaxed and all together make it part of your life rather than change your life and you just work with your body so your eating more first of all. It takes a lot to go through it, its just something that requires knowledge about nutrition and weight loss, check out the sources for my blog with free fitness information.
