Will the sun's harmful rays harm my skin even if I wear good sunblock? And can I still be very likely to get skin cancer? I'm very fair skinned but I want to run track. Does sunblock make a huge difference or should I just not run track this year?
Truth Angel - As a redhead, I can tell you, absolutely sunblock is crucial! Buy at least SPF 30. Applly 15 minutes before going into sun and reapply every 2 hours for maximum protection. The stuff has saved me numerous times. I like Neutrogena or Cote, but any full-spectrum sunblock with SPF of 30-45 will work great.
BTW, as result of wearing sunscreen consistently for 20 years, I can pass for 35, but I'm really 50 :).
