Kaitlyn - Insulin pumps are pretty tough. Of course there is always the chance it could break, but I've dropped mine, banged it (accidentally) on all sorts of stuff, and its always been fine. Even if it does break, however, any pump you wear should be under warranty so they can send you a new one very quickly.
Noccie - I'm trying to figure out the last time I fell backwards - most people either go forwards or land on the butt. If you fell just right and banged the pump hard enough against something, yes it could break, however, it's not likely. They are built to withstand every day living.
