I'm 17 and my heart rate is never under 100 bpm. I take my heart rate when I wake up in the morning and it's always so high. I'm not out out shape and I am a healthy weight. Also, when I go to the doctor, they always say I have a lower than average blood pressure. Why is my heart rate so high, and how can I fix it?
Randy - Does your heart rate beat faster when you stand up? I have dysautonomia, which includes both of these things. Basically it's when you autonomic nervous system doesn't work right. The subcategory I have is called POTS- postural orthostatic tachycarida syndrome. The worst symptoms for me are when I stand up my blood pressure drops significantly and my heart rate rises. There are several different forms of dysautonomia. Many doctors are unaware that it exists, but it is VERY real. I am also 17 and was diagnosed about a year ago.
