I'm Getting Two Out Of Three Wisdom Teeth Removed Tomorrow. Should I Get All Three Removed Instead?

396545381 I haven't seen the dentist for 8-10 years and he doesn't want to "truamitize" me. He only wants to remove two out of three wisdom teeth. I had a tooth removed before but it was a LONG time ago. Everyone is telling me to remove all three. Mind you, if there is two separate appointment to extract my teeth, they will prick me with the needle same amount of times and I HATE needles!!!!
Ugh.... Help! Should I just remove all three or just two????

  2. swagg - you should definitely get all three removed at once, that way when you heal your done. it would hurt much more getting two then waiting and going back, I did that and it was terrible I wished I did it all at once!

  3. laurie A - Have the two removed, your dentist knows whats best for you,it will also give you one side to eat on
,trust me its not that bad having them out, especially if Your take a pain medicine right after the appointment it will start to kick in and when the freezing comes out you will not feel it.The needles ar not that bad either,it just picks for a few seconds then your frozen right after, then when you go back you will only have 1 tooth left and its a easy,
hope it all works out for you and try not to get yourself worked up over this, its not that bad
let us know how it went and what you decided to do

  5. arnie g - Just a heads up,you may not want them to give you a drug called Versed

In fact, many people who use Versed for "conscious sedation" during a procedure are awake for the entire procedure but remember nothing, often believing they were "out" the whole time.

Versed (Midazolam) is an amnestic. It is commonly administered in combination with anesthesia before and during surgery. It is also commonly used for minor procedures like colonoscopies dental procedures like extractions, conscience sedation, twilight sleep, so that patients won't remember pain and discomfort.HOWEVER THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT THOSE SENSATIONS WILL NOT BE EXPERIENCED!!!!Forgetting does no mean it did not happen!! Amnesia does NOT take place for some patients.

IT'S NOT MY INTENTION FOR YOU TO NOT GET THE PROCEDURE DONE, JUST INFORMING YOU THAT YOU MAY WANT IT DONE WITH ANOTHER DRUG!!!!!
