Will My Mom Be Able To Move Her Left Leg Or Walk Again?

396545116 Here is the situation in October around the 5th of October her left leg was giving her problems way before this really happen, She was saying her left leg felt heavy and was getting hard to move my mom is 64yrs old so she was going through DR appointments and they did test and all they did not find anything wrong with the little testing they did, But one day she fell in her room her leg gave out the left leg she had a hard time getting up so me and my sister and brother n law helped her get up, So she started using the walker the rest of the day for balance, But the thing is she was always the stubborn type to go to the doctors even before when her leg ever first acted up, so she was ok the rest of the day until that night her left leg and left arm started going outta of control like moving very fast shaking and then it stopped then she tried to stand up she fell in the hallway, we could not pick her up then cause she was to heavy so we called the ambulance, and they came and got her then the whole night they did blood testing, and x-rays catscans and all to see why her leg was like that, and during this time she could move her left arm as well so they did tests they said they found a 2.7cm closed capsulated tumor on her motor skill part of her brain.

So they rushed her into Brain surgery the next day, They removed it successfully they said it was grinny looking and they took it off to go for testing to see if it was just an infection or if it came from somewhere else, so after surgery she surprised us she remembered the number to call home and all I guess a lot of people don't remember things like that right afterwards, So she remembered things like nothing happen, so after that surgery she could not move her left arm at all when she could been able to before. And still no left leg movement she has feeling in her leg though you can touch her she feels it your hands are cold she feels it but she can't move it to walk or anything,

So after all the testing came back we found out she has Stage Four Small Cell Carcinoma Lung Cancer I never heard of that before, she has two tumors on her liver, and on nodgil on her left lung, so it spread ed quickly to the other places the one in her brain was not cancerous though, she was starting to get a weird cough before all this even happen though with her leg she smoked a long while back but she quit, So she stayed in the hospital for a while and now she's been home on hospice care they gave us a bed, and a lift and accessories she been in the bed since end of October her legs went down they where really swollen she can now move her left arm before she couldn't

She tried radiation in the hospital it made her hair fall out and they told her if she did chemo she would really feel icky and sick, and she did not want that to happen at all she denied that since they said the type of cancer she has is aggressive and can come right back and not be killed, So she can wiggle her left upper leg a lot now more then usual but she can't move her toes at all she still has feeling in them, her toes are really big,

But her right leg and arm are perfect you think she can ever walk again? and since she did not take chemo and it's small cell lung cancer and spreaded how long you think she will have to live for?

  1. Denisedds - Do realize all you had to say is – What is the survival rate for stage 4 small cell carcinoma of the lung, without treatment?
Median survival is about 5-6 months
