Charlotte - it all depends on what colour you tend to wear, i wear a lot of navy so i went for baby blue :) try to match it with your style, if you're girly have pink or red that's nice :)
Ashley - Stay away from dark colors like red, dark green, and black. Also I've heard that yellow makes your teeth look yellow and white/clear stains easily. Maybe start out with light pink or light blue and then experiment with other colors to see which ones you like best (:
