My Mom Thinks I'm Anorexic...? Help?

396545382 I haven't been hungry lately, at all. I have cut back on eating, but not because I want to get skinnier because I am skinny already... Or average. I feel like I have to force myself to eat even if it's just a little something... My stomach doesn't hurt, I just don't have an... Appetite. Is there something wrong with me? :/
Well if it helps anyone answer this, last time I checked I was 119 pounds or so and I'm almost 15. I might have lost a few pounds or so..? I'm 5'3...

  1. Lucy - Possibly, maybe you should talk to a doctor about it.

  2. Sammi - This could just be a strange thing for a few days but if it lasts more than two weeks deffinetly tell your mom and go see a doctor because it could be a disease or a symptom of something worse!

  4. Shab786 - Try exercising regularly and eating a healthier more balanced diet. Its probably fine but go see the doctor just in case. I just follow whatever my appetite feels like when it comes to food.

  7. Susan Yarrawonga - Please note that under eating can, to some extent, stunt your height growth.

If your weight is OK perhaps you don't have a problem but if you are underweight then you do have a problem.

  8. Tony Moorgate - Normalweight is defined by a BMI of 18.5-24.9, and yours is approx. 21, so you're definitely normalweight. Nevertheless, I'm concerned about you cutting back on eating since in long term, that might make you underweight, and because your stomach literally discourages you from eating, I'd suggest you contact a doctor/specialist.

Anorexia is something completely different, I assure you. That is when you have an obsession with becoming as skinny as possible and your worst nightmare is gaining an extra pound of weight, which you say yourself is not the case, so be calm. You're definitely not anorexic but on the other hand something is likely going on in your stomach, and the fact is, loss of appetite is often a symptom of a disease, so as I said, consult a doctor/specialist to find out whether it needs to be stopped.
