My Horse Might Have Ringworm. Can I Catch It? If I Do Will I Get It On My Scalp And Lose Hair?

396545383 I'm calling the vet tomorrow, don't worry.
But today I was at the barn and pulled my horse's blanket back to brush her and lately it's been a little too warm for her blanket so I was planning to take it off of her anyway. But right under the blanket in the middle of her back by her spine there were these weird bumps. So I touched them like wtf is that.

And kind of picked at one and a couple chunks of hair fell right out. The end of the chunk was kind of black like old skin or something and there was this neat little oval/circle of raw pink skin about the size of a pea underneath. I didn't really know what to do with them so I decided to leave it alone and call the vet tomorrow to get some advice.
But anyways. I came home and immediately clipped my nails and washed my hands like 10 times.
Is it possible for me to catch it?
If I do will it just be on my skin like on my arm or will it go up to my scalp and make my hair fall out? HELP!

Humans are pretty resistant to ringworm, but catching it DOES happen on occasion. If you happen to get the skin fungi just apply some antifungal cream and you'll be fine.

  2. sarah - if u get ringworm its no big deal, just dab it with alcohol or athletes foot cream. i would suggest cleaning your hands with alcohol now to prevent getting it. i got it from kittens and got rid of it right away this way
