Is This Toothache Being Caused By My Sinuses?

396545381 I have had a cold for the last week, with nasal congestion and the development of a middle ear infection. Last night I woke up with a throbbing pressure sensation in my back 3 molars and jaw. There's mostly no pain, just the occasional slight, dull ache. My teeth do not hurt when tapped with a metal spoon, nor is there any hot/cold sensitivity and there is no pain when I bite down. It actually feels good when I clench my teeth together because it counteracts against the pressure.

I am taking Keflex antibiotic 500mg QID as well as Naproxen 250mg QID (starting last night to fight the inflammation of my sinuses).

  1. Richard Lee DDS - Probably. Sinus problems can mimic tooth aches on the upper teeth and vice versa. Only way to know for sure is to have your dentist run some tests.
