kk - Depends on how the rash or other skin reaction occured. A allergic reaction from something on sheets can cause a rash after sweating and reacting with the allergen on the skin and can only be treated with a steroid shot (do not remember what the skin condition is called but is just from being in contact with what was on or in a used sheet from a friends house like dust, fragrance, etc. Avoiding the allergen is advised cause it can lead to more severe symptoms. They will only know where and what it could be from if you tell them if you had contact with any new things or things that flare up allergic symptoms. The only test they can do is place things on your skin and see if your skin reacts negatively (it's not safe to do so they won't do that). They merely base it on what they see and know then prescribe what they can to treat it. They can't stop you from being allergic so you will need to figure out what your allergic to and avoid it as much as possible.
