Sionnan - It depends on the type of diabetes. Type one which is the injection of insulin is where the pancreas doesn't produce its own insulin to break down sugars in the body. Type two diabetes is where the pancreas does not produce enough insulin so the body finds its difficult to break down sugar type 2 is a combination of tablets which helps the pancreas produce the correct amount of insulin that breaks down the sugar. Diabetes if not controlled correctly can have bad effects, such as skin ulcer, liver damage, fits, loss of consciousness etc.. Type one diabetes is also the more advanced diabetes as the pancreas doesn't work where type 2 the pancreas just doesn't work 100% the way it should. If not looked after type 2 can develope into type 1
John W - The word diabetes means urination and mellitus means sweet so literally diabetes mellitus means sweet urine. There are no organs inside your urine. However the condition of diabetes mellitus can be affected by a poorly functioning pancreas and or liver as those two organs control the glucose level in your blood. It's also affected by your stomach and intestines which absorb nutrients from food, particularly glucose. Your kidneys can also be affected by having to remove any excess glucose through urination and everything in your body can be affected by high glucose levels, your nerves can be damaged, all your organs can be damaged, your heart can be damaged, your eyes can be damaged.
