Unhealthy Lifestyle/diabetes Question?

396545384 Unhealthy lifestyle/diabetes question?

Hey everyone,
I am a 14 year old girl who is 98 pounds, people tell me I am very skinny, and a rather large stomach. I know how unhealthy I am, I never exercise and eat junk. I don't like this at all and I am trying to change my ways. So, I had a question, if I continued my unhealthy ways what would be the effects and would I get diabetes?

  1. Kai - You would not necessarily get diabetes but not eating healthy can compromise your health. At 14, you are still building your body and what you feed your body is going to affect how well you age. If you aren't getting a lot of calcium and Vit. D now, when you get into your 50's and 60's you may develop osteoporosis--because you didn't give your bones the vitamins and minerals when you were young to make them strong and dense. Your skin will be affected. Maybe your heart and hair and other body parts. Food and exercise go hand-in-hand to make your body--you can eat real healthy but if you don't keep your body active the muscles will deteriorate, your circulation may go bad. If you exercise but don't bother eating healthy, you may have more muscles tears, weak joints, bone problems, and other injuries. Everything, from having a healthy digestive system, circulatory system, etc. to how you feel about yourself is affected by what you eat and how active you are. If you want to be a 30 year old who looks 60 and has all forms of problems, sure continue to eat unhealthy and be sedentary. But if you want to be 60 and look, feel and act like a youngster, change your life style now so your core body is in good shape.
