(: - I have braces, and I got my wires on first, then a month later, I got my brackets, and that's the part that hurts. It hurts for like a week or so, and for the first 3 days you really can't eat anything unless it's soft. And the amount of time you need them depends on how crooked your teeth are, it can be anywhere for maybe 6 months to even 4 years or so. I'm having mine for around 2 years, and I go every 6 weeks to change the brackets. There's regular braces and invisalign at my dentist..
Nate! - They will feel weird at first, but that's normal! You will get used to them very soon:) I had braces and they only hurt sometimes when you get them adjusted.. It depends on what the orthodontist wants to do though. Sometimes the orthodontist will have you come in every 2 weeks, 4 weeks, or ive even had 6 weeks! When it comes to braces they give you different wire sizes, small to large but they all look the same! It can be fun getting colors on them:p... I had my braces from 8th grade to sophomore year but everyone is different! :D
Sister188 - I'm getting mine done this summer:( I hate how they look but I have to. I'm scarred!! My friends can barely eat for a week when they get theirs tightened D:!!!!!! Yea u will have to go to the dentist a lot.:/ there r metal ones, and clear ones. The clear ones are more expensive, but I want them way more!!
NeveRmoRe - I have braces and I've had them for about a year. I get them off in March, and to be honest, they aren't really that big of a deal. After a week or so, you get over it. I didn't really feel anything at first, or the past year at all. The only thing that really sucks is you can't have candy, but most people do anyways, lol. I know when you go into the dentist and look at them getting wires in their mouth it looks kinda scary, but trust me and it's gonna be alright. Besides, the results are gonna be worth it when you have nice shiny teeth afterwards! Oh - and for the other questions: You can get colorul braces or clear ones. And it depends on how your mouth is doing and if it hurts or not. I go about every month, maybe every other month. Sometimes they need to rearrange the wires or put new ones in. There's nothing to worry aboutz. :) Good luck.
Lady K - I've had braces for abouttt 7 months now. I was a bit nervous about getting them too! But I was also somewhat excited thinking that soon enough they'll be off and I'll have a pretty smileee ^_^ Getting them on does not hurt. I got my top ones on first. A couple hours after having them my teeth did hurt a little bit, not like unbearable pain, just a little sensitive. I would suggest taking advil or tylenol, it helped alot. For me, the bottom ones hurt a little more, escpecially my front teeth. The tylenol and advil helped a little bit. I also used orajel which was like heaven for my sore little gums. lol I can't tell you how long you would need them for. It just kind of depends on how bad you're teeth are and if you have an overbite or anything like that. I have to go back every 4-6 weeks so I'm guessing you'd probably have to do the same. There are a couple different types of braces I know of. There are the regular metal braces. There are also ceramic braces and invisalign. I have ceramic brackets on top. So only my brackets are clear but my wire is metal. I have regular metal braces on the bottom though. Your orthodontist will let you know which options you have and will work best for you. Well Hope I helped a little bit. :)

Be Hold Trinasty Kings. - It might hurt little bit, since they are putting them into your teeth. You might need them until your teeth are straight.
