  2. John W - How long were you at the hospital? I'm usually there for a week to two weeks when I drop in to ER.

On my last trip, it took them 20 minutes to turn off the alarms on the life monitor they hooked me up to, they did the ECG, they did the X-ray, they put me in an overflow room with a wireless ECG so they could monitor me from the nurse's station, they did an echocardiogram, booked an MRI but did an angiogram instead, they put me on seven meds had me on a sliding scale with insulin, gave me a new insulin pen and prescription ( actually with less insulin ). After discharging me two weeks later, they required me to come back to the hospital every two weeks for blood tests, ECG, weight, blood pressure, a JVP and medication adjustments, they've been increasing my medication far beyond what they've been for a long time and I have strict instructions to go to the hospital if my weight should change by more than 2 lbs either way each morning, it's actually changed by more on occasions but I really think it's a bit dramatic to keep going in to the hospital like that. That's what happens when someone with a heart problem shows up at ER.
