@Captain Wheelchair yeah its true :(
She is starting chemo in 2 weeks, my friend had told me that they had found large masses near her heart and lungs. My friend's mother also had breast cancer but it went away... Is she going to make it?
forgot to add.. she still smokes ( weed and cigarettes) and she still drinks beer!
Captain Wheelchair - If this is true, I'd say her chances of surviving are slim. However, one can never allow themselves to forget that there is always hope.
ReplyDeletePurpleHeart - Sorry to hear that,
ReplyDeleteNot good, especially if there's lung involvement.
Regardless of what people say, the chances are always depend on the response of treatment
puppysyndrome - Her cancer has metastasized to her major organs and now it's in her liver it will soon be spreading further through her circulatory and lymph systems. Personally, I'd say her chances of surviving are very slim.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Captain Wheelchair to a point..........you never give up hope, but as the disease progresses, you'll find that the hope changes..........it goes from hoping the person will recover, to hoping they have a "good" death (manageable pain, maintained dignity, surrounded by people who love her and are loved by her)
Edit: re your comment about her still smoking and drinking. When someone is terminally ill, we have to be realistic about things like this. If she were to quit smoking and drinking now, would it mean she would live??? NO!! The damage has been done! If at this stage, those vices give her comfort and something she still has control over, she should enjoy them! As advanced as her condition is, it's really a non issue.
Sam - It really depends on how early they caught all the cancer, and how well she responds to treatment. She will probably have to undergo many different surgeries and treatments, but you can never give up hope. If God wants her home, he will call her. Just be strong for your friend, and help support her. It sounds like her chances are slim, but once again, depending on how well she responds to treatment, how advanced the cancer is, and how strong she is, she can still make it.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
Serene E - Zero.
ReplyDeleteIt's already spread.
