I have a crp level of 42, down from 71 in July 2009. I am a 59 year old female, non-smoker, non-drinker, choles is 189, LDL 105, HDL < 100, tricyl is good. I was told 1 year ago that I have a non-functioning gall bladder, but have no apparent problems from it. Just trying to figure out why my CRP level is so elevated.
Nurse Dawn - Well there are more reasons for a high elevated CRP other then smoking such as, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, increased cholesterol, hypertension and metabolic syndrome. Things you could do to lower your CRP are to aerobic exercise, smoking cessation, weight loss and diet. Also try low fat foods.
