Thigh Pain, Scared - Please Read And Answer.?

396545116 Hi,
I'm an 18 year old female and for the past maybe two or three months, I've had this strange pain in my left upper thigh. It hurts really bad, it hasn't been persistent though, It would come and go and hurt for a little and then go away, but it wouldn't last a whole day. Today though, it had been maybe 3-4 weeks since I've felt the pain, and it's been hurting all day and worse than ever. When I'm sitting or lying down, I feel it. When I walk, and step on that leg, it hurts. I don't really feel a bump or anything. I know some are probably going to say I pulled a muscle or bumped my thigh, but no....not at all! I have not pulled any muscle. I haven't done any sports or ran anywhere or rough housed with anyone. I'm telling you honestly, nothing! I'm not overweight or anything that would cause strain in my legs or anything like that. No previous leg injuries or anything like that. What could this be? Could it be cancer or a tumor? I had read about osteosarcoma and Ewing's sarcoma before, could there be a chance of it being this?
I'm going to my pediatrician on Friday.
Thanks

  1. Isis - first of all dont worry. Set your worries aside as you are seeing pediatrician soon. This September I had pain in my rib area and wondered what the heck.. Ive diagnosed arthritis and other problems with my spine. Im a female too 49 yrs old though and have had chronic pain since 2000. Long story short..I totally forgot while I was waliking up flight of stairs to my room (in the dark, I didnt want to waste electricity) I tripped going up the stairs lol and jabbed myself in the ribs with my elbow as I was carrying something. Days later I was sore and didnt know why. As I said dont worry. You will be in good hands with the pediatrician. Good luck to you and hope you feel better soon.
