Is It Okay To Drink Cold Milk In Winters?

396545383 My mother insists that I should drink warm milk in winters else I will catch common cold and will have a bad throat infection if I have cold milk. How true is it?

  1. foreveryoung - That's absolutely ridiculous. The cold is caused by a virus spread from other people. You can absolutely drink cold milk in winter if you want to. Where did she even get that idea from?

  2. Helga Fantinella - I don't see anything wrong with drinking cold milk in winters. I doubt that the temperature of the milk (being cold or warm) will cause a bacterial infection or give you an illness.

  3. Frank - forevery is right. Colds are caused by a cold virus. Throat infections are cuased by viruses or bacteria. Cold milk has nothing to do with that.

    This is an old myth.

  4. Techwing - It's not true at all. You can drink milk hot or cold at any time of year, as long as you're not allergic to it or lactose-intolerant, in which case you should avoid whole milk entirely.
