Im scared i have colon cancer.Went to a urologist last week and was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate.The urologist did a rectal exam and found no blood.He didnt seem concerned.He prescribed Avodart.Since then,i have had stomach pains,gas,nausae,bloating,and constipation.My bowels have changed.
I saw a Gastro DR 4 days ago and he did a blood fecal test.That too was normal and so was the blood test i had.
Yesterday i was having stomach pain again so bad i decided to go to the hospital.
They did a cat scan of my stomach and my pelvis area.They used dye.
That came back as showing i indeed have an enlarged prostate with constipation.They gave me laxative and i took it yesterday.Ive had 3 bowel movements.My stools are brown,but like marbles,real hard.
No blood.
But im worried that maybe i have colon cancer.
Would the cat scan show any tumors if i had any?
Im 50 and in good health overall.
Im having a colonoscopy in 2 weeks.
peggy b - a catscan would show problems in the colon but the colonosphemy will tell for sure
