If you did not understand my question, i would like to know, why I am immune to a particular dog's fur, while i'm allergic to all dogs? Could this particular dog have a special natural anti-allergen biomechanism. If yes, i could sell my dog's DNA to laboratories who could research on this :)
Diane - I have dog allergies too. What we dog allergy sufferers are allergic to is not the fur but the dogs skin dander. I have more allergic reactions to dogs with shorter hair because of the dander being closer to the surface and I come in contact with it more. I have 2 pomeranians and they have long fur and an undercoat of fur and I don't really notice any allergic problems with them unless I pet them and touch my eyes. What kind of dog do you have? Boston terriers literally make me sick with asthma attacks, itchy nose, throat, etc. That is because the dander is right on the surface of their fur.
ReplyDeleteHope I helped.
