  1. John W - Well, the good news is that it won't cause diabetes ( see myth 3 on the American Diabetes website below ), the bad news is that it isn't good for you in large amounts. Try to shift to other sweets like honey or jam on toast and then to fruits. Your body really wants the fruits anyways which is why we like sweet things.

  3. Peggy - Your sweet tooth is out of control. Speak to your doctor. Your metabolism is probably causing all the sugar cravings. I have a sweet tooth too but I do have to tell myself the empty calories really are not worth all the negative consequences. You can allow yourself to have some sugar and add sugar substitutes. Splenda is ok but Truvia is the best. There are now a lot of great tasting products made from these zero calorie natural sweeteners so eat them instead.
Your physician may be able to refer you to a dietitian or nutritionist to help you learn better habits and ways to satisfy that sweet tooth.

Also don't forget to have your hormones levels check because they can be the source of your cravings.

  5. Nana Lamb - You and several other people who have written in to this forum need to be seeing PSYCHIATRIST or PSYCHOANALYST for your attitude problems on thinking you must have sugar. This is so much Balony!

The good news is that SUGAR does NOT cause diabetes!! It only causes tooth decay and gross obesity!

  6. John Smith - If you are so addicted to sugar why don't you simply be smart and replace it with a natural sweetener which can be used to bake and cook and also with your daily coffee and tea. Try Natvia its something that i use. Also visit this website for further information. http://natvia.com/
