Kori - That's how my skin gets after I use Mary Kay Velocity but I know I'm not allergic to it. Your skin may need some time to get use to it or it may be that your skin is dry. I would try some LIGHTWEIGHT moisturizer and if that helps. If it doesn't, you may be allergic to it and might want to consider a different cleanser.
Frank - No, that is not an allergy. Your skin is just irritated. Proactiv is very heavily marketed, but it is just salicyclic acid (SA) or benzoyl perioxide (BP).
BP is good at stopping zits from getting infected in the first place, and it is good at getting rid of existing zits. SA is decent at stopping zits from forming in the first place, but not as good as BP.
BP, however, is more irritating to skin. Check the ingredients of your version of Proactiv. Go to the drug store and buy a tube of zit cream that has a lower concentration of the same ingredient. It will be much cheaper and just as effective.
