Sandy - If you have any problem trusting your current dentist, or feel he's not doing a good job, then you should change.
It's very important to have complete faith in the people who are taking care of your health, be it a doctor, dentist, midwife, or whoever.
If you do like your dentist now, I don't know why you'd consider changing, unless you were moving out of area and it was too hard to come back to the old one on a regular basis.
