What Causes Easy Skin Bruising: Can Alcohol Consumption Affect Skin Bruising?
I have a friend who bruises very easily; she is 70 years old and weighs 110 pounds. Her bruises turn red and purple. She drinks quite a bit of wine: could this be part of the cause for her easy bruising?
formerly_bob - Bruising happens more readily when a person has thin skin and when clotting ability is impaired. The skin tends to become thinner as person ages, so thats probably one factor. Alcohol does reduce clotting ability, so that could be another factor.
