Do I Have A Cold Sore Or A Pimple?

396545389 About two weeks ago, I noticed a black head on my lip. So I tried to squeeze it out and it became inflamed. It became very inflamed and people think it looks like a cold sore. However, I stopped using acne medication and only Abreva on it for about 2 weeks now. Nothing has happened, but I've noticed it has formed a pointy whitehead. So, I gently squeezed from the sides and it immediately popped and a glob of white puss came. It was then followed by the infamous acne type watery-blood drainage. Gross, I know. Also, I had been kissing my boyfriend quite a bit whenever I thought it was just a pimple, and he hasn't gotten a cold sore yet. I read online that cold sores were only supposed to last 10 days, but I have the oddest feeling that it is indeed a pimple. Any insight?

  1. ☆ΜαΣϰιντολογιςτ☆ - Cold sore is a viral infection where as acne is a bacterial infection. Two different causes, which means two different treatment protocol.

Only your trusted health care provider like a board-certified dermatologist, in particular, can accurate diagnose your skin condition.
