I just started taking Metformin XL (1000 mg twice a day) and I feel crappy! I'm dizzy, tired and have a horrible headache. Are these normal side effects? If so, how long before they go away?
John W - That's a pretty big dose. Are you sure it's supposed to be twice a day? Regular Metformin is usually 500 mg twice a day, Metformin XL is supposed to be so that you only need to take it once a day; that's what the XL means, extra long. Call your Doctor and get your dosing sorted out and let him know your symptoms.
