Since tomorrow is Christmas my mom insists I break my diet tomorrow. I don't know if I should. I'm 15, 5'3, 120 pounds. I don't know if I should. I mean, I haven't done much exercise these days. Should I just eat very light during the day and at the Christmas dinner eat 1/2 of everything the hosts (of the party, my parent's friends) serve me? Or should I not give in? Pleasee
help. :(
Agnes - no
ReplyDeletegeorge - you can
ReplyDeleteThe Undertaker - Put it this way, all the effort will be lost in one meal or two. Eat lightly, walk around, dance or whatever, eat again and eventually, you will have controlled your food intake. If I were you, I would fast today, eat very lightly, go to bed early and you will have dropped 2 or 3 pounds by morning. At least, you will be able to cheat a little if you drop to 117. I know its hard. If you do cheat, just go for a 40 minute walk as this will help you burn the calories.
ReplyDeleteBillyTheKid - You only live once, and you never know when your time could be up. It's ok to live a little. Would you rather gain 1 pound or insult your family? It takes 3500 calories in excess of what you burn to gain a pound, I doubt you will be able to eat that much!! Your weight for you height is not bad anyway, maybe you wish to be thinner, but it is not putting your health in danger. Also, many girls hit a spurt at your age and lose a lot of weight. I was larger than you and at 15 hit a spurt and was 5'6" and 106 lbs--too skinny--without trying. Enjoy yourself tomorrow and have a little treat. Then go back to your healthy diet Monday.
ReplyDeletePS--if you drop 2-3 lbs overnight, this is due to fluid loss, not fat loss.
Keven - In dealing with a similar situation recently i chose to stick to my plans...Justification : if it matters that much to someone else..its proabaly because they want to justify their own bad habbits.. i say do what gets you to where you wanna be.
ReplyDeleteCrissy - Don't pause. You will have trouble losing it and prolly freak out when you tip the scale. Stick to your diet. You can cheat a little but don't listen to others. Its your body and you have probably worked your butt off to get down to 120.
