  1. Monira - If you are patient, and the redness isn’t a issue, the red marks will disappear on its own. Depending on your body, the healing may take up to 12 months. Despite that, should a re-infection occur in the same area, or the skin is still discolored or defected after 1 year, then the area is considered to be permanently scarred. In the meantime, there are measure that you can take to temporarily get rid of acne redness.

While pimples, zits, and blackheads are unsightly, the redness left behind with healing process is still ugly. and can be a source of embarrassment Since it is hard to mask the redness , you would want to get rid of acne redness as soon as possible, even overnight. They are several solutions to decrease the redness left behind from acne. Some of them can be found in your home. These are really great effective measures to reduce redness.

    * Get some ice cubes from your freezer. Use a clean cloth to cover the ice cubes. Or use an ice pack. Place it on the red marks for 10 minutes. It will make the redness of the blemish less noticeable, and is a good temporary way to get rid of acne redness.
    * Mix a fresh lemon juice with equal quantity of rose water. Apply this mixture on your face. Leave it for 30 minutes. Then rinse your face with fresh water. The redness will reduce in about 15 days. It takes a while, granted, but this method is a more permanent way to get rid of acne redness
    * Garlic also works very well. It can be applied fresh, or you can buy garlic oil. Cut the garlic clove open, or pierce the garlic capsule and rub it on the affected area, Do this on regular intervals. This will to reduce redness and swelling. Word of warning though. Garlic is smelly and the odor will stay with you if you don’t wash it off correctly. it is usually the first choice for how to get rid of acne redness. However, lemon juice will eliminate the garlic smell. Just spread a little over the area of the garlic, and rinse.
    * Visine red eyes just isn’t for red eyes. The chemical it contains tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride, which minimize acne redness by constricting blood vessels making the appearance of acne redness less. Apply on the affected area with a cotton swab.

  2. Nature_Girl - Jojoba oil is particularly good for skincare. It penetrates into the skin and does not clog pores. It can be used on all skin types. It contains vitamin E and antioxidants which are great for fighting aging signs and moisturizing the skin. In addition it is also antibacterial making it great for treating acne breakouts.

If using Tea Tree Essential oil is not helping it could be that in some people it it can irritate the skin (this may be what is happening in your case), I would recommend trying Lavender Essential oil which has well known antifungal and antiseptic properties and is widely used in treating acne. For that stubborn pimples lavender can be applied neat using a cotton bud or pad. Redness, swelling and irritation will be dramatically reduced. Though better used in dilution for larger areas, I would recommend between 10-20 drops of essential oil to 50ml of carrier oil such as sweet almond or jojoba oil.

    Hope this helps!
