For my prep I have to take 1 Picolax and 2 Klean-Preps. However, on the sheet it says that if I have a bad reaction I should contact my doctor or pharmacist immediately. But why my doctor? I thought you would contact the hospital if you have any problems. Why call your doctor when he would be booked up with patients? Wouldn't you call the hospital instead if you had a bad reaction?
Allan - I take it you read the possible side-effects of the drugs. I have been in for a sigmoidoscopy and had to take picolax. Its a very safe drug, but I would suggest drinking a lot of water.
ReplyDeleteThey doctor/pharm will have the drugs needed to counter the effects of a bad reaction. the hopsital may not stock them?
Roland - don't worry only a prep to clean you sigmoid or the "big intestine" for a good side.
ReplyDeleteFollow the instructions carefully especially when you have to drink the drug. No danger the main is to remain quiet on the table you avoid risk without anesthesia :a few painful as the scope has to turn...;
help the pratician as possible.
E - allan got it right on .
