My dad has prostate cancer stage 4 currently in the lymph nodes. But his current PSA levels are low and so is his Gleason score. Should I be worried with the bone scan? Or will everything be ok?
Can the bone scan still show something different despite low psa level and gleason score or not much really?
Thanks!!
Amy - he will be fine dont worrie
ReplyDeleteShararti - A bone scan is a test that can determine if prostate cancer has spread into the bones anywhere in the body. Although easy to perform, not all men need this test. Learn when the test is indicated and when it can and should be avoided. Check this video link.

Bones scans are mostly used to establish a baseline for future reference. It fgives the details of biopsy and % on positive cores.
