396545116 I understand that cancer is when any cell in the body becomes cancerous due to it go over it's hay-flick limit. but if you have terminal cancer how does it just suddenly go away?

please don't say "It does not. Terminal cancer kills you. That's what the 'terminal' means" I have already had one downey say that, but the thing is there's been people who have had terminal cancer multiple times and survived.

  1. Ursula - Terminal cancer can go away, but not necessarily forever. Another term for cancer that goes away is cancer that is in remission. Remission means that there is currently no evidence of disease (NED) in a person's body. Some people have long remissions, and others do not.

Some people believe that terminal cancer goes away permanently, which means that they believe that they have been healed. There is certainly nothing wrong with this belief. Healing is a goal that every doctor and patient should strive for.

Some things that may contribute to healing are: excellent medical care, healthy lifestyle choices (nutrition, rest/relaxation, exercise), positive attitude, social support, faith in God, hope for the future, confidence in your doctors, and whatever else would benefit you.

If you live in the USA, there are organizations such as the American Cancer Society or other organizations in the state where you live. You can find out more information from them.

Be cautious about some other sources online. There is a lot of misinformation out there that will likely induce hopelessness.

I am a cancer survivor whose terminal cancer has been in remission for more than two years. I do not know if my cancer will recur, but I choose to believe that God has healed me.

  2. Michael - I don't know, but anything is possible. Most people die from terminal diseases, but our bodies are wonderful things and anything is possible. Some people have been diagnosed with terminal illnesses and have lived to tell the tale.

    Here is a similar question.

  3. Denisedds - If you know what “terminal” means than why ask this question?
Where do you get “there's been people who have had terminal cancer multiple times and survived.”?
