How Do I Lose 40 Pounds In 3 Months?

396545382 I am 15 and im 5'1" and I weigh 155 and i want to be around 115 can you tell me how, i am counting calories and i eat about 1200 calories and i drink only water and for breakfast i eat 2 rice cakes: (16 calories) with thin slice of turkey and naturally slender cheese and i eat string cheese or a banana as a snack, can you help me? I also try to exercise 4-5 days a week (cardio & kickboxing)

  1. Junior year 8 - Honey, the only way you're going to lose that much is by eating about 50 calories a day and just drinking water because that's like nearly 3 stone in 3 months you have to work incredibly hard to suceed.

Kat - you'd have to loose 2.5 lbs a week - which is do-able, but difficult.. 1 lb is 3500 calories - divide that by 7, and you'd have to eat about 500 calories less a day to lose ONE lbs a week. for 2.5, you'd have to be eating 1300-ish calories less than normal, or eating 800 less and burning off another 500. assuming you're currently eating about 2000, thats 700-800 calories a day. Which is difficult to do for any length of time, you body will eventually override your will power, and you'll end up binging.
    why don't you give yourself 6 months to reach your goal? then you're losing just over a lb a week, which is much easier to maintain.

  4. RobbVann - If thats all you eat and you exercise too, you should be losing! Anyway, this is how I lost 20-40 pounds several times in 20 years. You cut out "food groups" and the body will go into its fat reserves. So, you are going to change what you eat but you really won't be hungry! So then, no breads,cake or flour products, no meats,fats, sugar stuff and no starchy foods like potato, rice etc. NOW, you will eat mostly vegetables. raw or salads(lowfat or fatfree dressings) cooked or steamed vegs, even canned vegs although they have little nutritional value, they fill you up and add variety. Avoid avocado and easy on the peas. Beef or chicken or veg broths any time! Clear soups-cabbage etc. So maybe just a little butter on hot vegs but not much or often! No sodas reg OR diet! And not much fruit- it's still sugar! For comfort food (excuse the expression) I would eat hard boiled eggs without the yolks(maybe just one or two yolks a day) anyway , the whites with tuna(in water) or lowfat salmon. Lots of tomatoes and the egg whites mixed with dressing. I enjoy Mojo Criollo which is a spanish marinade that makes a great salad dressing(Kirby brand) and its very low calorie and tastes good unlike the croppy tasting diet dressings! If you're still hungry have some broth or just eat more vegs! Lipton SAVORY broth is real good. Meanwhile, YOU NEED A SCALE to weigh yourself every day right after you poop so that you get an accurate loss reading. If you need one thrift stores Good will etc. have them cheap. When you get on that scale and every day you've lost a pound, its like freakin' cheering! this will keep you motivated! I would lose 8-10 lbs the first week and 4-6 lbs after that! So you wont really be counting calories per se but focusing on vegs etc.You get that candy is out, right?Cheese is bye-bye too. Just have these foods discussed handy and eat them whenever you are hungry! After you lose the weight, minor adjustments to your diet with exercise will keep the weight off.I know the junk food temptations at your age are strong but this plan will work! You must get your mom/family on board to help you and not to tempt you with other foods! I hope your family isn't obese because they might not be much help! You can do this,Kiddo!
