Since a few days ago my lips have chapped so much they're bleeding.. I know dry mouth is a symptom, but I don't know whether dry lips are..
Yesterday, I had really bad heart pain..
Occasionally I've had leg pain, like an ache in my knee, nothing I took seriously.. But know it's a little more often.. And I've ALWAYS urinated a lot. Bed wetting until I was 12 LOL.. I'm 15 now, in case that's useful.. Anymore symptoms I should know about? I don't really want to keep and eye on my blood, since blood makes me sick:\
Also, I feel dizzy a lot.. I often go pale and feel sick:|
Shelby - Well, if it's an unquenchable thirst than it may be a symptom of diabetes but there are other symptoms like blurred vision, fatigue, increased hunger, and weight loss. You should get a blood test done to make sure. You may just be dehydrated.

Most cases of diabetes mellitus fall into three broad categories: Type 1 is when the pancreas can no longer produce insulin; therefore the patient must take insulin injections or use an insulin pump to control their blood glucose levels. Type 2 diabetes occurs when insulin is produced however it is either not enough or not utilized properly by the body. Diabetes can also develop during pregnancy which is known as gestational diabetes. Due to the increased food intake during pregnancy, the overload of carbohydrates and sugar can be a burden on the body hence resulting in diabetes.

maria - You should have better go to see a doctor,He (she) will check up your body. And There are Other warning signs of Diabetes, and hope help you.
ReplyDeleteOther warning signs of Diabetes:
Weight gain or weight loss.
You may gain your weight because your body is trying to compensate the lost fluid and glucose in the urine and you will always feel hunger and eat too much food. But weight loss also occurs often. Although you eat much more than usual, your muscle tissue still can’t get enough glucose to produce the energy you need. This is especially true in Type 1 Diabetes and most of the patients will have a body weight of lower than the normal range.
Poor vision.
This is because high blood sugar will pull the fluid from the lenses of your eyes and affect your vision, but your vision can be improved if Diabetes is treated and your blood sugar is lowered. This symptom in most patients is slight but some are severe and may lead to blindness. In addition, this is the reason why one of the complications of Diabetes is eye problems (retinopathy).
Increased fatigue.
GmanIV - chapped lips may be just from the cold dry weather, but the other things you mentioned I'd say Yes, it's very possible. My best advice is go to a drug store and buy a glucose blood test kit, they are pretty cheap, it will give you a blood sugar read out in seconds. If you're around 70-140 I wouldn't be concerned, any higher and I would be, Try to cut down on sugar if you can, the stuff tastes great but it's not healthy.
