Do I Still Have Bed Bugs?

396545389 About two weeks ago I searched and found bed bugs in my box spring. Not wanting to deal with them I simply threw it in the trash. There were no traces if the bugs on my mattress which I had to keep until I can buy the bed I have on lay a way. Recently I have been noticing more bumps but they are not in rows and there are still no traces of the bed bugs. Could it be possible that they are still from previous bites??
After I threw out the box spring I washed everything in hot water and dried in highly heat. The bites did stop for about two weeks but I'm noticing more recently. I don't have enough money to buy a new bed yet since I have to go out of town for Christmas. But once I get it I'll be sure to re do all the close searching and cleaning I did the first time. Thanks.

Then then hitch a ride to other parts of the house on your clothing, other animals, etc. Most of the time you need to get your whole house exterminated. Simply throwing the matters out is not going to clear all of them out. They multiply VERYY quick and I you do not get it taken care of soon you will start to notice them all over your house, like in the carpet or rugs . that is a big place too. One time, I lived in an apartment. and I remember somebody a few floors above us had bed buds and the WHOLE APARTMENT HAD TO GET EXTERMINATED! and there were about 10 floors. But they were simply everywee in the apartment after a while. and they get carried sound the house on stuffed animals, blankets, clothing, purses, everything.

please take care of them ASAP!

  2. ladyhawke707 - bed bug eggs and live quite well on clothes, carpet, pillows and anything soft. Sounds like you still have them especially if you find little drops of red blood or flecks of there poop in and around your mattress.

  3. Andie - I agree with the first answer. You need to get rid of your mattress ASAP. You didn't get rid of the bed bugs by throwing the box spring away.

They lay eggs. Even under close examination you could miss them. You need to examine everything, not just where you sleep. Blinds, curtains...anything that is near your bed could have eggs or bedbugs.

  4. Shaun - I think you need to de a lot more than throw away your box spring. In fact you didnt need to do that at all unless it was thoroughly infested. In my experience, buying a box spring or matress encasement is a cruicial step in getting rid of bed bugs.

Everyones immune system reacts differently to the anticoagulant and anaesthetic saliva of the bed bugs. This is what actually causes the red itchy bumps.

I would recommend bed bug interceptors as well. These are cheap plastic monitors which will help you along the way.

Also, just so you are aware, you will probably not be able to get rid of them on your own. I tell you this only to save you many agonizing nites and the continuall discomfort that will continue as you waste time trying to do it yourself. Please take my warning, I am an exterminator who has been studying bed bugs for too long.

there are other things you should know and I cant put it all here. email me for more info if you like: bedbugconsult@yahoo.com

  5. KSs - Hey if your bites are appearing again you may still have them. Keep a close eye on yur bed sheets and surrounding furniture. Check crevices and check out this site www.pesttrackers.com a complete guide for bed bugs and other pests.

Report track and locate pests anywhere. See pictures of bites and ruined furniture. This site was made to help with bed bugs because the maker of this site has been through an infestation so take it from someone who knows.

    Great info pics and facts.
