Allergy Trouble, Please Help?

396545383 I wake up almost on a daily basis with a stuffy/runny nose, its not a cold, I think im allergic to something ...and it can't be hayfever as there's no pollen about here at the moment. Anyways if I take an anti-hystamine as soon as I wake ...then it prevents any stuffyness/running and general tingling discomfort for the rest of the day. However..if I miss taking one...then i'm in for one long miserable day of nasal bother and torture. I can't keep taking one every day surely just to get through every day ? Is there another solution? I've tried nasal sprays, they dont work. Please help, suffering as we speak, thanks.

  1. Chesney - It's possible to have hay fever even if there is no pollen; a lot of the time the body reacts not just in pollination season, but in the other seasons as well. It's also very likely you ARE allergic to something -- the only way you'll know for sure is if you go to your doctor or an allergist, but in the meantime try changing your laundry detergent, body soap/wash, shampoo, etc. You could be allergic to a fragrance in any of them.
If worse comes to worse, you can always get an allergy shot and not have to worry about taking a pill every day -- but you will have to go get a shot every 4 months or so.

  2. Chloe - It defiantly sounds like you still have hay fever, you may even be allergic to something in your room such as dust mite. I have such severe allergies that just one zyrtec a day doesn't help me. My hole eye lids will swell up so much that I can't see if i don't have at least 2 zyrtec a day and nothing else helps. So I think your lucky if you only have to take one a day and it prevents you from getting allergies. You will most likely have to take one a day to keep your allergies under control. I no a lot of people who have to do the same. Just try and get into a routine of taking it and youll be fine :)
