so my friend was diagnosed with GERD but i did some research and i think he has Gastric ulcer. He does not have any heartburn, no acid reflux and no pain in the throat. The pain that he has stays in the stomach and he has nausea, unintentional weight loss, stomach pains in the morning and usually getting worse when he eats. is it possible that the doctor miss diagnosed him?
they did do a colonoscopy and blood work
nurse52 - Anything is possible. It depends on how he was diagnosed. Did they look into his throat or stomach with a camera? Or go only by the symptoms?
ReplyDeleteDoctors are human. They make mistakes.
Get a second opinion.
Edit- They should do endoscopy probably. (looking down his throat to his stomach) If he doesn't have blood in his stools it is probably not a bleeding ulcer. Which is better.
As I am sure you read treatment may not be the same for GERD and an ulcer.
Good luck
Babette - Ι think it is better seeing a doctor in person to answer this kind of questions.
