ckm1956 - It depends. He can't survive long without food. So, the family has to decide about a feeding tube in the stomach. He'll need 24hr care, so that means a nursing home. He might live for years that way, he might catch an infection & pass quickly.
The biggest decision is the feeding tube. I talk to families about what the patient would want.
he was left alone and found a day and a half after he sufferd a stroke . he is parlized on the right side and cant talk or swallow
