My music producer said that his mom has had strokes before and her doctor told her to take a lot of L-lysine. He said that her recovery were very fast. anyone else heard of this or have any resources i could read?

  2. Dr.Qutub - There are many recommendations, about L-Lysine in stroke, and there are different schools of thoughts regarding its use prior or after stroke.
Recovery depends upon restoration of circulation and the amount of permanent damaged cells in brain, left after stroke. If there is gross damage to circulation & brain cells than L-Lysine won't work in restoring normal brain function/s irrespectively. OK
Mostly research work is in progress about L-Lysine.
There are many URL/links on the internet, but the efficacy is doubtful, & I don't recommend it to my patients after stroke, as high doses of have its own side effects. So, you talk out with your grandma doctor, he is the best judge.
    G/Luck.
