My nose is always runny and stuffy at this time of year (I'm in Texas so it's pretty cold.), autumn and winter. But my other classmates' noses aren't runny or stuffy and I feel so embarrassed when I sniff just to not have anything coming out of my nose. To make it better, the tissues in my class were rough so it irritated my nose a lot. And for some reason this year it only runs in a few classes. But last year and the year before that it would only run/stuff in first period then the rest of the day I'm fine. This year, it's more than one class.
Why is it like that and what can I do to stop it?
JUST ME - maybe because the buildings are closed up or others have perfume or deodorants on that you have a slight reaction to.My son & I react to animal dander of peoples' clothing ,along with dust mites & mold.
ReplyDeleteI use Aveano hand cream on my nose when it gets all red, puffy & raw..the oatmeal soothes it while the cream helps leave a layer of protection ,plus it doesn't have a scent
you can always get a simple blood test done to figure out what you may be reacting to & how bad you react
medicated nasal sprays work for a day or so,but can make things worse.
Benadryl works well, but makes you drowsy...the others don't have antihistamine in them so don't help for very long
when a IeG protein come sin contact with your body...it causes the histamines to go nuts trying to get rid of them..hence the runny nose, sneezing, etc. antihistamine blocks the histamines.
I have dealt with severe & seasonal allergies since i was an infant..was a test subject until I was 35 for everything on the market..so have tried all kinds of things they thought might help...now I just use Vicks Nasal Inhalers,Benadryl,Aveano lotion when I start having problems, since I know my triggers.
best of luck & feel better soon..:)
