Meg - I think the jury is still out on this one. I have heard that they are very painful and I imagine they would be. I used the ice mittens and they were difficult enough to put up with, I had to keep moving my hands around to lessen the pain. One thing I did hear though was that quite possibly the caps could stop the chemo from being as effective in the head area, that was enough to put me off totally. Losing hair isn't great but I'd rather do that than make my treatment less effective and go through unecessary pain.

thinkingtime - I used a barley bag, made by a friend. Barley grains in a cotton bag, chilled in the freezer but doesn't feel so intensely cold.
