Animal Allergy Injections?

396545383 I have a rabbit, guinea pig and hamster and I love them so much but when I'm around them I suffer so much its unbearable and i have to put them back after about 5-10 minutes of holding them and it makes me so sad because I love animals. I'm going to college in a few months and I really want to do animal care but I'd be ill everyday at college looking after the animals, but there's nothing else at college that interests me. I really would love to ask my doctor about getting the injections to stop it, on their website it says that I'd have to have an injection every 2 weeks for at least 2 years and what I want to know is does it work? Because I would hate to go through all that if it hardly changed my life at all, also if i started having the injections I would start the animal care college course that I want to do and it would mean I could hold my pets for longer. But 2 years is such a long time to be having injections for, I don't know what to do and i need to get my college application in soon!

  1. Speedy - You should ask a trained professional because you need to know what other health conditions you may or may not have that may or may not have an effect on your life if taking injections. My brother took injections because he was deathly allergic to somethings. However it works only for somethings. NOT EVERYTHING! :) Just an FYI.

  2. Shergill - Hi Emma

As a person with multiple allergies and having gone through the program of injections I can tell you that the success rate is low. It costs lots of money, time, injections and physical discomfort.
Do what you have a passion for but not at the cost of your health. Good luck. the choice is difficult but you will have to make it.
