Matt - If he is touching your mouth you should definetly ask him to put gloves on. That is just nasty...for both of you! so just ask next time for them to put gloves on.
hygenius - if he is putting his hands in your mouth, he MUST wear gloves. unless you do not live in USA. OSHA regulations say he MUST wear new gloves each time he sees a patient. YES ask him to put on new gloves.
Evangeline - Usually, orthodontists wear gloves to protect not only themselves but their patients as well. My orthodontist wears one every time I go for my dental visit. I think you can ask politely why he/she is not wearing gloves the next time you visit your orthodontist and you can request that he/she wears gloves.
Amy Vanessah - They are supposed too. Because if he touches some stuff and it has like bacteria it will get all over you teeth. Ask him to wear some. Its not mean its for your health.
