Why Does My Blood Sugar Go Low When Ive Eaten Porridge?

396545384 ive had type 1 diabetes for over ten years. it is well controlled. ive started eating porridge for breakfast, it is a sachet of porridge which i add hot water to. I thought porridge would keep my sugars stable as bananas or toast would but it seems to go low. im only having 6 units and its never low before i eat breakfast. i didnt want to add milk as im trying to lose a little weight, only about 10 lbs. Any ideas? i take novo rapid whenever i eat and then have a lantus glargine pen in the evening

  1. Julie C - porridge is slow releasing energy so your body has not worked out you have eaten and hence low blood sugar
