Which Patient Has Diabetic Nerve Damage And Which One Had Arterial Leg Disease?

396545384 Two patients. Patient A has developed a pain below her right knee, especially severe in the heel and the foot. The pain is at rest as well as in movement....The pain is just one one leg....Two weeks earlier Patient A suffered heart failure and an angiogram revealed heart disease in various heart branches....The patient is 68 years old,,,has a history of poorly controlled diabetes, hypertension and Hypercholesterolemia.

Patient B. patient B has developed pains running down both legs...Diabtetic control is poor...Patient has hypertension as well and is 42 years of age...Pain is relieved when legs are at rest....no recent heart problems....Which patient on balance has nerve pain and which one has arterial disease?

  1. Gary B - Diabetic nerve pain is usually constant.

    Pain from arterial disease usually gets worse during movement.
