i am 16 years old and have and abscess/binine tissue mass on my heart - about the size of a tennis ball. i have never had an operation before and the prospect terrifys me, i am so rediculasly scared.
has anyone had any other similar experiences that went well just to put my mind at rest?
surgery is on the first of December :S
thankyou x
Mike - These types of surgeries, although major, are extremely routine and common for heart surgeons. Your 16 years old, so your probably healthy and you'll do fine. Also, it's normal to be scared, but just remember that you'll be in good hands.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, God bless, Stay safe
ps, respond to this and let me know how it goes!
happydawg - You are young and healthy except for the benign tissue mass on your heart. I used to work in a cardiac unit, and you will be fine. We used to do open hearts on 80 yr olds who smoked and had about 4 or 5 other serious health issues. If they can do it, you can do it.
ReplyDeleteYou will feel better when they get that mass out of your heart. Its probably affecting your breathing now, and you will notice a major difference after its removed.
You will be in good hands. Your thoracic surgeon knows you are a nervous nellie.
I will say a lil prayer to ask the lord to help you relax a lil.
Its going to be OK.
