Stage 4 Liver Cancer-how Long Left To Live?

396545116 My grandpa is 82 years old and he has stage 4 Liver Cancer. He slept 14 hours last night..he also sleeps alot during the day. He's kind of weak but not alot. He lost alot of his hair where he's almost bald.He was diagnosed 2 years ago. He has become skinny (from 180 to 155-ish) His face is pale. So please, if you had any family members/ friends with cancer. How long did they live for? Also, what happened to them? Please help. No mean answers. Thank you.
He also gets confused about the time of day.
He will be getting hospice (:

  1. Denisedds - No way of knowing. It is surprising he has survived 2 years.
Ask his doctor or hospice nurse they should have a guess.

  2. Dulaman - No one can predict death with accuracy because medical science is not exact. One can only provide approximations. Based on the details provided it appears that he may have two to three months left. I hope he is getting hospice care, check into it if he is not. Hospice can be provided at your own home, hospital or a nursing care facility. Medicare and other Insurance cover it.

Many pass away in their sleep.

  3. linda m - My sister died, and it is heart breaking and she had hospice care. Actually you can pray lots and visit them, and know that when they pass on to Heaven, God is there with open arms to welcome Him.

  4. Mrs. Garrison - I'm sorry to hear this, i'm going through similar experience. call american cancer society 1-800-ACS-2345 they were really helpful. They can tell you what options there may be. There are new drugs coming out of clinical trials and it would help if you could bring it up to the dr.
