Well, I went to the dermatologist about a month ago and I've been taking this minocyclin medicine stuff in the morning and night, this TretinX stuff when I get out of the shower, and Cetaphil in the shower. The Dr. did say it might be a little worse before it gut better. But it's been a month, and I look the SAME... if not worse. ProActive DEFINITELY didn't work for me. Hopefully this dermatologist stuff'll work out. In the meantime, do any of you all know any little things that'll
help, any homemade remedy kinda things? Thanks :p I'm so tired of my zits ://
jimmy - Get some rose water and some witchhazel liquid. Mix it about half half, soak a little bit on a tissue and wipe your face with it every morning and night. Trust me, works a treat. Think you can get it premixed from some places, but I always used to do it myself. Also, eat less greasy foods.
ReplyDeleteRachel - I hate zits too. Everyone does. I use a regular wash to clean my face every morning and before I go to bed at night. If I see it acting up I'll use benzoyl peroxide (Neutrogena brand). http://www.walmart.com/ip/Neutrogena-Clear-Pore-Daily-Scrub-4.2-fl-oz/15747268 It dries my face quite a bit, but it gets the job done. When I wash my face I always use warm water first to open my pores, then I use cold water to close my pores again when I'm finished. Scrub your face gently (trust me on the gentle part) for a good few minutes. Sometimes I'll just sit down and scrub my face for several minutes. I also use aloe vera at night and leave it on until I wake up in the morning. I use this kind: http://www.walmart.com/ip/After-Sun-Aloe-Vera-Cooling-Gel/14122657 (it works amazing)
ReplyDeleteandrew f - I presume your acne was gradually building up and you ignored it (like I have when I was a teen/young adult). This process to rid of your acne will take months -- 2-3 to see increasing results if you are determined. However, if you have the financial means and time (hiding in your home/not going out much), then as the first poster said: "ACCUTANE" also known as Isotretinoin.
ReplyDeleteDiet also helps so AVOID: Fatty Foods and Sugary foods as well because they screw up your body's function to properly maintain digestion/immune system.
Koralle F - Washing pillow cases twice a week.
ReplyDeleteUsing oil sheets
Less makeup of course
Ice helps swelling go down.
Using witch hazel to dry it out.
